Jose Carlos Rivera
“In a world increasingly accelerated and digitized as well as in a contemporary nomadic society, I'm focused on questioning the concepts of traveling, the traverse of space and presence. How we relate to our territory. How we move, occupy and situate within the surrounding space, the natural world. I'm motivated by the explorer of the Grand Tour, the Flâneur and the Surrealist Dérives.
Concepts related to experiencing the landscape and traveling towards knowledge, the sublime and the process itself as a subject of the work. Thus, I'm currently interested in telling a story in a different way, pointing these concepts through specific locations and crossing different disciplines using the action as the first step.”
